Dunoon Dazzles is going to be a Christmas cracker of a day, jam-packed with seasonal cheer. With just one week to go, here are FIVE reasons why you should come along.
Kids will love it
It’s all about proper old-fashioned festive fun. As well as funfair rides, we’ve got loads of free activities taking place all day, including face painting, street theatre from The Walking Theatre Company, antics from Big Rory, the giant Scotsman and mischievous dog Ochie, Santa’s grotto, reindeers and a carnival mask workshop at Burgh Hall Dunoon.
Earn yourself a few more mince pies
Take part in the Dunoon Dazzles Santa Dash and you’ll have earned your reward! Kids set off at 2.30pm and adults (5K) at 2.45pm from Argyll Gardens. We want to see the streets of Dunoon awash with Santas this year! Just turn up on the day in your Santa outfit.
A festive feast
So you’ve done the run; now it’s time to tuck in. There will be food and home-baking galore at the Christmas Market, which is on all day from 9.30am to 4.30pm. You’ll find hot food from Swallow Café, hot drinks from Coast Coffee, cakes and goodies from Chouxmake’s Cakes, jams and pickles from Glenfinart Walled Garden, chocolates from Caramiche Chocolaterie, Christmas hampers from Seasons plus oodles of sweets and selection boxes from the Cornershop and Sweet Spot. We’re pretty sure there will be the odd mince pie knocking about as well…
Shop local this Christmas
Pick up some unique gifts at the Christmas Market , including quirky printed t-shirts from Signapple, outdoor gear from Argyll Outdoors, crafts from Bulldogs and Butterflies and jewellery from Lapwing Designs and more. Plus Dunoon’s shops will be pulling out all the stops. White Rabbits Boutique, for example, is holding a special Dunoon Dazzles sale across the whole weekend. That’s your Christmas shopping sorted!
Time to party!
We’ve got music and dancing throughout the day, building up to our ‘Tribute To Christmas’ from 3pm onwards on the Main Stage. Sing and dance along with some of the country’s top tribute acts, including Michael Bublé Christmas Tribute, Abbatones and One and Only Direction. We’ll also have performances from Dunoon Choral Club, Govan Salvation Army Brass Band and Dunoon Grammar School Pipe Band. And we’re really looking forward to Tina Cairns School of Dancing’s “Frozen”-themed routine. Expect dancing Olafs and little princesses.
And then, of course, there’s the BIG Dunoon Dazzles Christmas Lights Switch On at 5pm. Make sure you join us for the countdown! Dunoon Dazzles, Saturday 28th November, 9.30am to 5.30pm.
