How to Get Here
You can get to Dunoon easily by car, ferry, train and bus. In just over an hour from Glasgow, you can escape to the tranquillity and beauty of the Scottish Highlands.
TRAVELLING BY CAR
If you are travelling by car, follow the M8 from Glasgow to Gourock. You then take the Western Ferries from Gourock to Dunoon (takes 15 minutes).
Or you drive via the A82, an incredibly picturesque route that will take you past Loch Lomond, through Arrochar, over the beautiful Rest and Be Thankful, along Loch Fyne to the village of Strachur. From here, follow the banks of Loch Eck to Cowal’s main town, Dunoon.
TRAVELLING BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Dunoon is easily accessible by public transport. Take the train from Glasgow Central to Gourock. Then the passenger ferry (next door to train station) from Gourock to Dunoon.
