Free Hand Pump Dispensers and Gel - UPDATE

Good morning,

An update re the FREE Soap Dispensers/Hand Gel via the BIDs Resilience Fund:

We hope to take delivery of these mid to late next week and will get them distributed as soon as practicable thereafter and without delay.

Just some quick pointers:

  1. We will require to prioritise in this phase, those businesses currently trading and preparing to open very soon.
  2. The equipment should be picked up from the Dunoon Presents office in Hillfoot Street.
  3. Please let us know if you need your dispenser fitted and we will arrange that: info@pa23.org.uk (no cost)
  4. We will supply the dispenser full with 1L of gel and thereafter we will sell the re stock gel at cost price: £7.99 plus vat = £9.59
  5. If the BID levy account is in arrears you will be charged cost price for the dispenser: £14.70 plus vat= £17.64 plus the gel cost.

Self-Employed Income Support Scheme

See below some important information about the SEISS scheme, in particular, how to avoid a delay in the claim:

The claims system for the Self-Employed Income Support Scheme (SEISS) went live yesterday, 13 May, for eligible customers to begin to make their claims. HMRC have contacted stakeholders to say that the first day of claims went smoothly, but to draw attention to a number of important issues that have come up with applications to the scheme.

Some agents are using their client’s Government Gateway credentials to make claims on their behalf. Please don’t do this. It will trigger a fraud alert and will result in delays to receiving payment.

If you have claimed on a client’s behalf already, their payment may be delayed. If your clients are affected, they will have to contact HMRC separately to resolve this.

HMRC have also shared a best guidance list for supporting those looking to apply to the scheme:

  • talking them through why they may, or may not be eligible, drawing on our online guidance or through our daily webinars
  • encouraging them to use the online checker (or using it on their behalf to check eligibility) – reminding them that they will need their Unique Taxpayer Reference number and their National Insurance number to do so
  • encouraging clients who do not have their Government Gateway credentials to set them up online now
  • reminding them that the date between 13 and 18 May, which they have been given, is assigned randomly in order to help HMRC manage demand on the service so that everyone who needs to make a claim can do so
  • helping them understand that while they won’t be able to apply before their allocated claim date, they will be able to make a claim after that day, and
  • supporting them to find other help available on GOV.UK, if they are not eligible for a grant under this scheme.

Pivotal Fund Now Re-opened

THE PIVOTAL ENTERPRISE RESILIENCE FUND HAS NOW REOPENED FOR APPLICATIONS

We wanted to provide a further update on the Scottish Government’s Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund, a £90m support package for SME firms that are vital to Scotland’s economy and have been impacted by COVID-19.

The enterprise agencies are pleased to confirm that the Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund will reopen for new applications from mid-morning on Thursday, 14 May.  A pause had been in place since 5pm on Tuesday, 5 May to allow partners to review initial completed applications following an exceptionally high level of interest received from companies.

The additional £45million funding announced by the Scottish Government on Friday has been crucial to helps us meet the demand there has been for this funding.  We are continuing to work hard to process offers of grant applications so that all approved applicants can receive their funding as quickly as possible.

Alongside our partners, we continue to closely monitor the volume of new applications for the Pivotal Enterprise Resilience Fund and the £20 million Creative, Tourism & Hospitality Enterprises Hardship Fund. We expect both funds to reach their full capacity in the coming days, therefore anticipate these closing at 5pm on Monday, 18 May.

Scottish Enterprise, along with Highlands and Islands Enterprise and South of Scotland Enterprise, will continue to deliver these funds, with support from Creative Scotland and VisitScotland for the hardship fund.  Companies can apply at findbusinesssupport.gov.scot, where full eligibility criteria for each fund is also provided.


Dunoon Trade Hub Launch

Further to our communication on Tuesday about this initiative - thank you for the interest already registered which is very encouraging.

Please see below some further important bullet points for joining the platform:

1. First of all you need to register and create a log in with www.thegreatbritishfoodhub.com


2.THEN you will get an email confirming your registration and to become a producer you need to follow these steps to register as a producer:

3.Go to  www.thegreatbritishfoodhub.com and click login/ register and sign in with your email address and password...then click Producer (on the menu bar) and a pop up window will appear.

4. Go to PRODUCER (on the menu bar)>MY DASHBOARD> work your way through Profile, Business Address and Company Information. Please note that we  DO NOT currently require any of the document uploads or your IBAN number shown at the bottom of the screen and don’t worry if you don’t currently have all of the information to hand.

AND PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING ALSO:

  • Dunoon Presents will pay the Trade Hub commission of 10% and the delivery charge of £2 until the BID Resilience Fund budget which is underpinning this runs out, at which point you will then need to add 10% to the cost of your products on the market. You will be advised when this happens.
  • Don't forget: this trading opportunity is open to all Dunoon and Cowal based businesses  AND those of you selling non food products can also join the hub
  • Finally - if you have any difficulties registering, we have assistance on hand so do not hesitate to shout for help!!

Free Hand Pump Dispensers and Gel

Good afternoon,

One of the 'new normals' that may become a greater part of everyday life in public places/work hubs etc is the need for hand pump dispensers with antibacterial gel.

We are currently trying to source the appropriate version to allow us to supply as many businesses as is possible/affordable via funding received from the Scottish Government BID Resilience Fund.

It is very likely that the issue of these will need to be on a first come first served basis, so we require to have some idea of the demand for these dispensers.

Could you please e mail and let us know if the prospect of a free dispenser and gel is something that would be useful for your business and this will allow us to gauge the volume required.

Please note, this will be a once only opportunity and we will also require to prioritise those businesses in the Dunoon BID area currently trading.

Dunoon Presents are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with the Dunoon Food Hub to provide an enhanced online marketplace and home delivery service for the next few months.

Helping you reach your customers during these uncertain times we invite your business to sign up and have your produce included in the weekly online market.

THIS NEW SERVICE  WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ANY DUNOON AND COWAL BASED BUSINESSES , INCORPORATING THOSE SELLING FOOD AND NON-FOOD ITEMS, BOTH FROM WITHIN AND OUTWITH THE DUNOON BID LEVY AREA.

This service will be invaluable to businesses unable to trade normally due to the social distancing rules in force.

It is FREE to sign up, simple to use and gives you complete control:

1. Once registered as a producer you are granted access to your own back-office system where you can list your products on to the platform, add images, descriptions, prices and set your stock quantities...it’s as easy as selling on Ebay!

2. Sign up to Stripe the platform used to pay you your money (there is a link to Stripe from our platform)

3. The market runs from Thursday until midnight on Tuesday and you can follow your sales in real-time in your back-office. When the market closes simply print off your list of orders and prepare them for your customers

4. The next week’s market launches and the process starts all over again

Firstly: register as a producer at www.thegreatbritishfoodhub.com then verify your email address, log in and go to Producer on the menu bar to get started.

We will have expert advice on hand to assist you where required through the registration and set up process so not do be put off as help is at hand!!
